Step 3: Link Variable to the Ternair Clicks Tag

In this final step, you'll link the GTM variable to the Ternair Clicks tag.

Instructions

1. In Google Tag Manager, go to Tags
2. Open the Ternair - Clicks Tracking tag
3. Scroll to the Additional mapping section (or "Additional Fields")
4. Click Add Row
5. Fill in the fields:

Field	Value
Ternair fieldname	The exact tag name from Ternair (e.g., product_id)
Value	Select the GTM variable (e.g., {{Ternair - Product ID}})

6. Click Save
7. Test the configuration in Preview mode
8. Publish the changes when everything works correctly

Important

The Ternair fieldname must exactly match the tag name you created in Step 1 in Ternair. This is case-sensitive!

Testing

1. Click Preview in Google Tag Manager
2. Open your website in a new tab
3. Navigate to a page where the tag should fire
4. Check in GTM Preview:
   • Whether the Ternair tag fires
   • Whether the variable has the correct value
   • Whether the value is correctly passed

Publishing

When you've verified that everything works correctly:

1. Click Submit in Google Tag Manager
2. Give your version a descriptive name
3. Click Publish
